A number of famous mecha use revolver-type weapons. Patlabor being the prime example. Plus revolvers are indubitably cool and are a strong design element, even more so when paired with various sci fi barrels. Alternatively, a revolver barrel accessory, since it’s hard to approximate and again, can be used in many contexts.
