Weapon/shield wielding idea#780

Hello, recently got this game and so far I love it. the only thing I’d say from my current experiences so far is the weapon wielding aspect seems a tad bit lacking. Overall the weapons have good designs and effects, but the freedom in terms of combat style is a bit lacking.

Personally, I dont particularly use the LB key on my controller for the aim/block very much. most enemies will be in range for auto lock or i have to move too much to use the aim feature, and when fighting in melee using it to use a shield throws me off due to the visibility of the aim feature still being there.

My suggestion is to instead make it so shields can be used both in melee and ranged, but only if the ranged weapons have 1 hand triggers. Rebind the LB key or corresponding pc key to be able to use the shield. This can also be expanded to a more of a basic weapon function instead of just shields in terms of dual wielding later. But using a shield as ranged would be an awesome start.

I like the idea of using a Shield with a 1h Ranged Weapon 1000% (I was surprised the game wouldn’t already let me do that)…

I use the LB (L1) for “Booster” and LT (L2) for “Aiming Mode” (Block)… and I have “Auto-Lock” turned off for Melee and on for Ranged.
and I use the “aim feature” both in Melee and Ranged combat to target multiple enemies for my missile-barrage/ “Bullet Launcher Attack” RB (R1)…

“Rebind the LB key or corresponding pc key to be able to use the shield”

Maybe this suggestion was made before they added the “rebind function?”
