There have been many who expressed the desire for a Mass’ armor configuration to no longer affect your armor value in tuning.
On one hand, this would further reinforce VD’s design philosophy of “Looks and gameplay are separate”. You could use the Hammerfall parts without any penalties to acceleration.
On the other hand, having a weight of +300 tons and not suffering any mobility penalty wouldn’t be uite realistic. Then again, Sazabi in Char’s Counterattack is bulky, yet incredibly fast… Also, if weight no longer affected armor, we wouldn’t be able to increase it drastically like before.
If it indeed gets changed, I suggest that the tuning nodes that add armor get an increase.

The way I see it. The effect of weight was removed from weapons and weight wasn’t ever planned for accessories. That’s 2 out of 3 systems where weight was deemed too obtrusive to have. Armor weight should just go too. It’ll be much easier for eveyone if the stats are controled by just tuning.
