Density: Weight System in the player's Control#515

I’ve seen a lot of people asking to axe the Weight system…others to double down on it, but maybe nerf the downsides…

okay, but here me out: What if we put it into the players’ hands as another means to customize their MASS?

Simply put, the player could adjust the Density of their Armor and weapons with a slider, trading one stat for another based on the category. this would be a Per-weapon slider, but a bulk-whole on Armor.

Armor: Durability for Acceleration
Melee: Swing Speed for Damage
Shooters: Attack Speed for Accuracy
Launchers: Damage for Ammo

This Is a good idea can’t understand the dislikes.
Considering that the weight already lowers the acceleration the weight slider Could be Simply the highest the weight the more the damage, scaling differently depending on The weapon type.

I completely agree with this.

However, developer should keep each parts with their current weight as default rather than removing it completely (making it 0). Just so that player know what is considered as normal weight for their build.

Then, there is an overall weight slider to increase/decrease the weight and their impact to stats. For easier UI, maybe use one slider for armor rather than each parts while each weapons has their own slider. This way, player can roleplay of heavy build/light build without compromising their looks.

That’s kindof the idea, Darth Vall. Each weapon woukd get its own density slider, but the Armor would have a single slider for the whole set. Also, Weight would be there, but behave more as a cosmetic number, influenced by the Density slider.

Shooters and launchers already get massively hosed as it is with having to share an ammo pool (More weapons=Less Ammo), and the Acceleration debuff (which for some unholy reason influences Attack Speed) is just overkill. this is why builds like Full Metal Jacket and Binary Monarch are so strong. it hyper-focuses on a single weapon, removing all of the downsides of weight. but this gimps the players’s ability to customize and create exactly what THEY want to make.
