Everything we’ve seen so far has been ground-based. If the game goes the RPG progression route, it would be great to actually be able to fight above the planet in a 3D space rather than a (mostly) 2D plane. New equipment nodes could be made available to support low/no gravity combat. Atmospheric drag could come into play; missions with objectives at the edge of the planet’s gravity would give players reason to equip different accessories. Playing at the edge of gravity may require lowered fuel consumption and greater boost to avoid a potential “fall back to earth” scenario, making low fuel consumption/fuel recovery/max boost items appealing.


As of the AMA, they are not doing space missions but Zero-G missions are still on the table as they have ideas on how to make a mission around it.
